The Babe in Red Stockings

My name is Ray Sinibaldi and I am one of the co-authors of the book The Babe in Red Stockings. It is about Babe's time with the Red Sox. It contains a lot of new info and stories with some very interesting material about his sale to NY.

For the better part of the last two years, myself and two others have been researching every game played by Babe Ruth as a member of the Red Sox. It has been a labor of love and a revelation.

Some of the more interesting things learned:

1. Most of the Boston sportswriters of the day favored the deal that sent Babe to NY.

2. Frazee tried to trade him straight up for Joe Jackson and was refused by Comiskey.

3. Babe's first "called shot" home run was in May of 1918, his 10th career homer.

There is lots and lots more plus over 30 photos, many never seen before. Look for it March 19th and tell all your friends. It is being published by Sagamore Publishing Company.
